Why is our society so fixated on waking up early?

Whenever I search ‘ how to become more productive’ on google almost every article, book, or list I read mentions waking up early as a key part of becoming successful.

Can’t I just be a night owl in peace?

Our society seems to have a sort of obsession with waking up early.

Waking up Early Doesn't Make you More Productive

It is possible that waking up early does in fact make you 10x more productive. Maybe waking up at 5 am gives you the early start you desperately need. I know the days I wake up early tend to be my most productive.

The problem is waking up early by itself does not magically make you more productive.

It is entirely possible you wake up at 5 am, bright and early, and get absolutely nothing done.

Maybe you spend the extra two hours browsing on TikTok or YouTube.

Or maybe you just sit down and binge-watch Netflix.

Is this what you would consider being productive?
